Elizabeth Capozzi joins the Trust as Deputy Director and Communications Director. Her role involves working closely with the Executive Director in the development and execution of Trust strategy, including social media campaigns, media relations and partner engagement.
Elizabeth moved to Florida in early 2005 and fell in love with Florida’s ecology on weekly visits to Palm Beach County's beaches and natural areas. An avid bike rider and hiker, her favorite haunts became Arthur Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, Grassy Waters Preserve and the Florida Keys -- experiences that provide reminders about the importance of protecting Florida's ecosystem.
Elizabeth was born and raised in central new york where her love of nature and the outdoors first blossomed. She studied Communications at Syracuse University, beginning her career in the nonprofit sector and working as a volunteer for local political campaigns. She went on to work in banking and finance with a focus on regulatory affairs, corporate governance and risk management. Her most recent work included consulting and advisement to corporate clients in the areas of risk management and compliance.
