TC PALM: Where's the algae? All the reported sites since Lake Okeechobee discharges started June 1

Possible blue-green algae blooms, some of it confirmed to be toxic, have been reported at all the following sites since Lake Okeechobee discharges to the St. Lucie River began June 1.

June 2
Location: Lake Okeechobee
Details: 8-12 long strands covering about a square mile about 2 to 3 miles northwest of Port Mayaca
DEP: No inspection

June 4
Location: Port Mayaca
Details: Flowing out of Lake Okeechobee into C-44 Canal leading to St. Lucie River
DEP sample: Positive for blue-green (microcystis)
Toxicity: Low level (0.063 parts per billion)
