It didn't take long for the South Florida Water Management District and the sugar industry to mobilize following the annual Everglades Coalition meeting earlier this month in Fort Myers.
Water district officials attacked one presenter's analysis of the relative merits of storing water north or south of Lake Okeechobee to advance Everglades restoration.
The sugar industry ran full page ads in some newspapers along the Treasure Coast where massive algal mats made last summer a nightmare.
