Javier Fernández is a resident of District 114 and a practicing attorney. Throughout his career, Javier has worked in both the public and private sector to improve the community in which he was born. Today, Javier represents clients advocating for transformative projects across Miami such as the Miami Design District, Brickell City Centre, Miami Worldcenter, and the Tri-Rail commuter rail service.
Raised in a single-parent household, Javier came to understand the struggles of balancing the demands of work and family. As the son of a Miami-Dade Public Schools teacher of 41 years, Javier firmly believes access to quality, public education is fundamental to a dynamic economy and combating our community’s growing income inequality. Javier will prioritize state investment in the areas of transportation and affordable housing to address both growing crises that threaten our quality of life. Finally, Javier will be an effective voice in the Florida House for state action to address the growing threat of climate change and more sensible gun reform.
